I have been trading for several years and I'm always looking for ways to improve. It's so refreshing to finally read a book which is actually insightful and useful for a change.
Applecore was recommended to me by a friend and honestly, I'm glad I bought it. The amount of research done for this book is obvious. The diagrams are clear and easy to read and I loved the writing. I scalp DAX, NAS, USDJPY (cfd) and always had and issue with getting reliable volume, this showed me how. It's brilliant.
Well, as I'm the first to review...
I’ve been trading on and off for the last couple of years and have read many books on trading, analysis, psychology etc. etc., but after seeing Eli speak at the London Trader Show, I decided to buy his book - and it’s something else entirely! What I find most interesting is how he guides you away from traditional analysis techniques and introduces a completely new approach. Not just in terms of the methods of analysis, but also in how you use traditional indicators. He emphasizes the importance of time, how to plot the most effective trendlines, and how to find correlations between your strategy and the testing data and how your strategy must be adaptable and creativity put together - things I've never even considered. The book also covers data discrepancies and how to get around them, money-management and trading psychology.
I really enjoyed Eli's writing style - it’s serious and to-the-point but often humorous, which made it memorable, the classic gaming references were fun (he must have been an 80's Atari child!) and I love the inspirational quotes throughout.
One final thing worth mentioning, the spiral binding is a genius idea! Being able to lay the book flat while analyzing the charts makes it so much easier to work with.
